Dujiangyan launch a global naming contest for giant padas   2018-07-25 16:53:46     

  On July 24th,a global naming contest for giant padas was jointly launched by the China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Panda and the city government of Dujiangyan, Sichuan province.

  The naming contest is to be hold for 4 panda cubs.They were all male and were born at the Dujiangyan Base in 2017.

  The organizer will select 20 names from public submissions and conduct a vote on the internet.The top four names with the highest votes will be used as official name of the 4 panda cubs.

  This naming contest includes voting, naming and so on, and will last for nearly a month. 

  During the event, the organizers will provide multiple gifts to the netizens who participate in the naming contest, including free tours to the world cultural heritage Qingchengshan Mountain- Dujiangyan scenic spot;and chances to participate in ecological protection, scientific research, field survival and so on.

YA’AN Ya'an is a prefecture-level city in the western part of Sichuan province, People's Republic of China, located just below the Tibetan Plateau.The first giant panda was found in Baoxing County of Ya'an; Ya'an is also the origin of Artificial planting tea of the world; Mengding Mountain in Mingshan County, has been keeping seven tea trees, which are believed to be the origins of tea, for more than 1,000 years.
