The wild brown giant panda was photographed again after 26 years in Shaanxi Changqing conservation area, ministry of ecology and environment announced today.

At present, most of the brown giant pandas found in the world are located in the core area of Qinling Mountains mountain in Shaanxi.

On March 11, 2018, the biodiversity observation network built by the Ministry of ecological environment used infrared cameras to shoot a healthy adult brown giant panda at an observation site in the Shaanxi Changqing National Nature Reserve.

A total of 3 photos and a 10 seconds video were taken.

Brown giant panda is a rare variant. Its chest and abdomen are brown, its hair is dry and white. At present, most of the brown giant pandas found in the world are located in the core area of Qinling mountain in Shaanxi.

The continuous discovery of wild brown giant pandas in the wild has further confirmed the existence and survival of the population in Qinling Mountains, which provides a highly scientific research value for the study of Qinling Mountain giant pandas andhighlights the importance of biodiversity observation.

From 2011,Ministry of ecological environment began to build a National Biodiversity Observation Network which is undertaken by the Nanjing Institute of environmental science.

In recent years, observation networks of birds, amphibians, butterflies and mammalian have been gradually established to carry out long-term observation about threat factors and changes in the diversity for key species.

At present, there are more than 150 units and 3500 people participating in the observation each year.

Initially, an international biodiversity observation network has been formed.
