Two giant pandas to be sent to Denmark   2017-05-04 17:23:15     



  Chinese zoo association signed giant panda protection and research cooperation agreement with Copenhagen zoo in Beijing,according to Chengdu giant panda breeding research base.

  According to the agreement, pandas from chengdu's giant panda base will travel to Denmark to live in the Copenhagen zoo.

  China and Denmark will conduct 15 years of research on joint protection and breeding of giant pandas.

  Copenhagen zoo has designed a panda pavilion with traditional Chinese culture in order to welcome the pandas "Hexing" and "Mao'Er". The project is expected to start in November 2017.

  Panda project costs 150 million Danish crowns (150 million yuan),covering an area of 2450 square meters.The interior is to be divided into two parts "Yin" and "Yang"according to the pattern of China's traditional culture.

  Panda pavilion is to be designed into mountain modelling which will be convenient to pandas to climb.The peripheral part will be planted withbamboos and trees in order to create a natural and comfortable ecological environment.

  Giant panda "Hexing" : Its spectrum number is 875, male, born on July 23, 2013,weighs 118 kilograms;

  "Mao'Er" : also known as "bamboo shoots", Its spectrum number is 919, female, born on July 26, 2014,weighs 98 kg,quiet and enjoy being alone.
